Hi, I am Katelynn!
I hold a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and is a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Counsellors (BCACC). I’m also certified as a yoga instructor, Forest School Canada Practitioner, Early Childhood Educator, and have two decades of experience working with children and families.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I’ve worked with all kinds of people—from those grappling with the depths of trauma symptoms to others seeking a boost in their self-esteem and mindfulness. What keeps me inspired is the chance to see people transform, even when it feels like life has thrown its toughest challenges at them. Whether it’s through EMDR, Nature Based Therapy, Walking and Talking, Play, Neuroscience in the Sandtray or a mindful approach, my goal is always the same: to empower you to take control of your own mental health and move towards healing, one small step at a time.
With two decades of experience in child development, I’ve come to truly appreciate the importance of nurturing a child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth. Yet, I also recognize that trauma can sometimes disrupt a child’s development, causing them to miss key milestones crucial for healthy growth. When working with children, I offer a range of strategies tailored to their ages and needs. Children thrive best when their families are involved. By all of us working closely together, we can create a solid foundation for lasting health and well-being.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you can usually find me indulging in my passions outside of work. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, gardening, playing with my family, practicing mindfulness, volunteering with my church or diving into a good book, I make sure to prioritize my own mental wellness—because I truly believe that self-care is the foundation of being able to care for others.
